Flights to Leh- Ladakh

History and Structure

In the year 1613, Fort Aguada was built by the Portuguese to guard the Bardez sub-district against the Marathas and the Dutch. Also, there is a four-storey lighthouse, which was constructed in 1864, but was later abandoned in 1976. Another important part of this fort is its grandstand of 79 cannons that was built in 1612. The capacity of this grandstand is 2,376,000 gallons of water.
