Flights to Leh- Ladakh

Jet Airways operates 1 flight daily from Delhi to Leh from Monday to Friday and 2 flights on Sunday. However, it does not operate any flight on Saturdays.
GoAir also operates 2 daily non-stop flights from Delhi to Leh.

History and Structure

In the year 1613, Fort Aguada was built by the Portuguese to guard the Bardez sub-district against the Marathas and the Dutch. Also, there is a four-storey lighthouse, which was constructed in 1864, but was later abandoned in 1976. Another important part of this fort is its grandstand of 79 cannons that was built in 1612. The capacity of this grandstand is 2,376,000 gallons of water. The fort is divided into two parts, where the upper segment acted as the fort and water station while the lower segment served as a safe berth for Portuguese ships.
